The UGA vs. Georgia Southern football game this weekend will not be solely about the game. Before getting behind the wheel of a motor vehicle after drinking keep in mind different types of transportation for the highly intoxicated in Athens.

If you are unfamiliar with UBER, it is a cost effective way to get from point A to point B. The uber radius for Athens runs north to south from Commerce, GA to Greensboro, GA. From east to west, the radius runs from Monroe, GA to Philomath, GA. If you are within this radius, an uber driver will pick you up and get you where you need to go. Rates for uberX are as follows: $1.30 base fee + $0.16/minute+ $1.22/mile. Rates for uberXL (larger vehicles) are as follows: $2.60 base fee+ $0.30+ $2.00/mile.

The Athens Transit System provides a Shuttle Bus. The fare is $10.00 round trip. The bus runs from the airport to the UGA arch. Fares are $1.75 otherwise.

The UGA Campus Transit will give free shuttle service to and from the game. Buses will begin running five and half hours before kickoff and stop running 15 minutes before kickoff.
