The goal of the month is to highlight issues associated with diabetes and make the nation cognizant of people affected by diabetes. The whole month is dedicated to controlling diabetes, raising awareness, and implementing a healthier lifestyle.
The American Diabetes Association reports that close to 30 million adults and children in the United States have diabetes. 86 million people have pre diabetes and posses the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
