Dining Commons will be running the Homegrown activities starting Monday September 21 and continuing until Wednesday September 23. Homegrown will feature local, fresh, and sustainable foods from all over Georgia.

Starting on Monday and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Center for Sustainability will be set up in front of the Dining Commons answering questions and holding information sessions about Georgia Southern’s Campus Garden and the Food Waste Composting project. Also starting on Monday at 11 a.m. and running while supplies last, Georgia Southern nutrition interns will be offering nutritious snacks and recipes.

On Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the Dining Commons is hosting a mini-farmers market. Homegrown as the main event will be on Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The dinner will feature products grown in Georgia and many of the vendors that participated in the mini-farmers market earlier in the day will be back offering samples of their products during the dinner hours.
