During the MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West announced in his speech that he would be running for president in 2020 and he has already received an endorsement in his presidential bid from a high-profile celebrity and potential opponent.
Republican front-runner Donald Trump told Rolling Stone that he is a fan of West and supports his decision to run for president in 2020.
“He’s actually a different kind of person than most people think. He’s a nice guy,” Trump said in an interview with Rolling stone. “I hope to run against him some day.”
If Trump did get to run against West in 2020, early polls show he would be the front-runner. The poll released by market research company, Echelon Insights, sampled 500 adults. The results shows that Trump to have a 38- 21 advantage with 41% undecided of who they would vote for between the two.
