As the City of Savannah proposes a new alcohol ordinance, many members of the community are seeking forums to voice their concerns and opinions effectively.
Potential changes brought about by the ordinance include – but are not limited to – extensions of the to-go cup zone, new security requirements for businesses serving alcohol weekends after midnight, and drastic rules for minors (under age 21) who patronize businesses after 10pm that host live music if said businesses serve alcohol.
Many of the suggested changes are relevant to college students, regardless of whether they drink.
Armstrong’s own Bill Dawers posted an enlightening review of the ordinance on his blog, Savannah Unplugged.
The city recently uploaded a survey which allows residents to air any grievances pertaining to the new ordinance. Click here to participate.
