Eagles women soccer took on Georgia State last week after coming off two back to back wins.
However, this was a battle that was rescheduled from September and that didn’t stop the eagles from coming out fired up and ready.
In the first half both teams put up a fight but in the eighth minute forward Simone Timm put some points on the board for the Eagles.
Defense held Georgia State for a while before they showed some signs of life answering back. Shortly after Georgia Southern hit a penalty kick to double their score and leave with the W, with game ending score 2 to 1.
This big win moved the eagles record to 8-5 overall and 3-3 in the sunbelt. After getting such a big win, soccer fans had some things to say, “They came out really hot… nobody’s stopping them now,” said soccer fan, Dylan Ryoul
“Last four minutes were intense but as soon as the goalie made that stop, I knew it was game over and we were gonna win,” said Freshman, Dan Popolizio.
“To get the first goal she had hit a corner kick”, said Freshman, Payton Delp. “I think that really set the mood for the whole game.”
