Interested in joining The George-Anne Media Group? Here’s what we’re all about:

 

Newsletters:

Every day when classes are in session, thousands of students (and faculty and staff) open our daily email newsletters. Every year, 400,000 or more our website and social media platforms receive more than 400,000 visits.

The stories included in the newsletters are completely organized and written by students.

Newspapers:

We distribute thousands of our printed newspapers across campus.

Social Media:

From skits, to day-in-the life videos, to breaking news, we post hundreds of videos on social media each semester.

Student-Run TV Show:

Our award-winning Your Newsroom division creates a TV show weekly that is written, edited, produced and filmed ALL by students.

 

DON’T HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE? NO PROBLEM!

No experience is required and we provide training.

 

WHAT’S THE PAYOFF?

  • Joining a team that is run by students, for student. Students have the first and last word on all content.
  • Joining a department guided by a media professional.
  • Free access to professional equipment and editing software.

  • Help students find activities and resources to improve their lives.
  • Add some fun to our coverage!
  • Tell us if you want to focus on special topics, such as health/mental health, fashion, identity, arts/culture, music, entertainment, or sports.

  • Videos produced by George-Anne Films can be serious, but they often are fun or quirky. They never are what you would expect. You just have to see for yourself at thegeorgeanne.com. On the menu bar, click “G-A Films.”

  • The Inkwell creates a weekly newsletter including stories written by student reporters, photo galleries created by staff photographers, embedded links to social media posts created by staff members, and more!
  • The Inkwell is also responsible for a print newspaper.
