Calling all chicken lovers!

A delicious new addition to Statesboro has arrived with the grand opening of Slim Chickens as the restaurant opened its doors Monday welcoming many eager customers.

Slim Chickens originated in Fayetteville, Arkansas in 2005 and is now opening locations across the country. The Statesboro location sits on Northside Drive and is only the second location in Georgia.

Jim Bennett the owner of both location in Georgia tells us what they’re bringing to the Boro. “We’ve got life changing chicken, we got wonderful tenders, we have homemade jar deserts. 17 house made sauces. It’s just a wonderful brand and a good product. As you can see here today everyone seems to be happy and having a good time,” said Bennett.

The opening of Slim Chickens was highly anticipated by customers as the drive thru was wrapped around the building and seats were filled inside. 

“The tender mac bowls are pretty popular, the homemade jar desserts like I mentioned are our bread and butter, that’s what a lot of people order, as well as the 17 sauces which kind of make the tenders what they are,” said Bennett.

Slim Chickens is now open every day from 10:00am to 10:00pm.
