We are learning more information after a fire forces residents to evacuate at Cambridge Apartments.
According to the Statesboro Herald, the fire broke out just before 4 p.m. in building 500 at Cambridge Pines Monday afternoon.
Emergency crews told the Statesboro Herald that the fire was caused by an unattended pot left on a stove. We spoke to a student-resident. He told us that when he arrived on scene he saw smoke, residents leaving their apartment, and multiple firefighters responding to the scene.
According to Grice Connect no one was hurt, but one apartment was left with fire and smoke damage.
When our reporter arrived to Cambridge around 5 p.m., tenants were back in their homes and emergency personnel were no longer on scene.
