Georgia Southern Men’s basketball had their roster finalized in June with seven returning players and nine new players. The Eagles are still under Head Coach, Charlie Henry.
GS will see seven familiar faces this upcoming season including leading scorer, Sophomore Guard, Eren Banks who averaged 10.2 ppg.
Gracing the floor again with Eren is:
- Sophomore Forward, Avantae Parker
- Sophomore Forward, Collin Kuhl
- Junior Forward, Nate Brafford
- Senior Forward, Luke Keller
- Senior Forward, Tyler Bush
- Grad student Forward, Eugene Brown III
One of the familiar faces, Eugene Brown spoke on the size of the team for this upcoming season,
“I feel like this year’s team has a lot more size than last year’s team. We’re more together and more cohesive, and with the culture set in place, I think we can make a run this year.”
The Bice-Peace head coach also added five transfer players, one who is not new to the Sun Belt Conference:
- Junior guard, Adante’ Holiman from University of Texas at San Antonio
- Junior Forward, Nakavieon White from National Park College
- Senior Forward, Tyson Brown from Rhode Island
- Senior Guard, Bradley Douglas from Little Rock
- Senior Guard, Dontae Horne from Texas State
The Eagles will also introduce two never worn numbers this season, number #7 worn by White and #8 worn by Keller.
Henry also signed three freshman to this seasons roster:
- Guard, Braylhan Thomas from Atlanta, GA
- Forward, Micah Smith from Tyrone, GA
- Guard, Langston Boyd from Charlotte, NC
Coach Henry mentioned finding the best fitting pieces to complete his roster,
“We wanted to put more size on the floor, and I think we were able to do that. When we evaluate guys, we’re looking for good fits for our system, which is a lot different than some of the systems these guys were playing in. I think we found some great fits for this team.”
