Hello, Georgia Southern students! The colors of leaves have started to change as the official beginning of the fall season is upon us. Whether it is chilling with a pumpkin spice latte, starting an annual Harry Potter movie marathon, or bundling up with a good book, the air is soon to be cool and crisp. Now you may not be able to wear your favorite autumn wear quite so soon, but Statesboro still provides festivities you and your friends may experience here in town.
Statesboro Mainstreet Farmers Market
I do not know about you out of towners, but us Statesboro folk love the Farmers Market! The feeling of getting up in the morning to browse all the amazing fresh food and handcrafted items with a cup of hot coffee in your hands can just feel so refreshing on your mental health. The Farmer’s Market is open every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 222 S. Main Street, from now through November! It is highly recommended you experience this simple yet incredible sense of community.
In just less than a month, the 62nd Annual Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair is opening in town for only a week! Starting Oct. 14th through Oct. 19th, you and your friends can traverse the fairgrounds under the multi-colored carnival lights, scream test the amusement rides, stop by the petting zoo, visit the arts, crafts and agriculture exhibit, and to top it all off — listen to free live entertainment! There will also be a great line-up of entertainments such as: Acrobats, magic acts, and back again this year is the legendary music group, Swingin’ Medallions! So make sure to grab your tickets! Admissions are $15 at the gate and $12 if you purchase them online. Go, go, go! More information can be found here.
