Splash in the Boro hosted its third annual “Splashy’s Spookfest”, transforming the waterpark into a fall festival and haunted house.
After two weeks of decorating and creative brainstorming from the park’s staff, the weekend-long Spookfest kicked off its festivities with a family-friendly fall festival on Friday. Many local families enjoyed a bouncy house, carnival games, swimming, trick-or-treating and a costume contest at the fall festival.
Attendees also had the chance to walk through Splashy’s haunted river. Inspired by traditional haunted houses, the lazy river was drained and turned into a walkthrough experience. The haunted river featured dark tunnels filled with strobe lights, eerie music, and scare actors waiting to pop out at every turn.
Aquatics Program Supervisor, Jenna Varner, enjoys seeing the community come together and enjoy the holiday. “Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, so I love being able to just provide for the community in that same way,” Varner said.
Varner confirmed that Spookfest will continue to take place annually. “We plan to do it again next year and make it even bigger,” she said.
