Beginning on Oct. 27th, signs of the ‘All Hallows Eve’ eeriness had begun to appear around Sweetheart Circle.
Little did students know, the fun had just begun. Six hours before the Witching Hour, at 6:00pm. Students gathered around Sweetheart Circle to experience a gruesome film of a monstrous beast lying beneath the surface of Black Lake, this film is known as “Lake Placid”.
This spooky night sparked the line of oil, to ensure students would have an “explosive” Halloweek!
With help from the Georgia Southern Theatre Department, the Georgia Southern Museum presented a Halloween Makeup Demonstration on Monday. Showing off their hauntingly brilliant skills, with brushes and face paint palettes. Students were taught how to look scary good in their costumes by showing them the way to draw the illusion of a head wound, bruise, black eye, and cut lip.
Now of course, you can not have Halloween without a few bone chilling moments. That is why the museum called in mad scientists from the Georgia Southern Physics Department/Chemistry Department, to brew up a wacky concoction. These Mad Scientists exhibited their wicked experiments to students, and fortunately, there were no casualties.
As a museum, it made history! The Georgia Southern Museum’s “Monsters & Mad Scientists,” event had plenty of activities for students to enjoy, and create memorable, spooky moments. They certainly raised the bar, and makes you wonder how much more thrilling next year’s event will be!
