The off-campus housing fair featured over a dozen apartments in Statesboro. Information about each property was given such as prices, floor plans and amenities.
“I think off campus housing is a good way for students to learn some independence and to kind of be an adult for a second. I think it’s a lot of good options that are cheaper, that can work for a lot of people’s budgets,” said student Brianna Brown.
This school year Georgia Southern welcomed its largest freshman class for the Fall 2024 semester, which means spots for housing on campus are becoming more limited for students. A new apartment complex called “Charme” is being constructed on Georgia Avenue and has caught a lot of attention from students.
“It’s pretty much on campus so for freshmen who are just moving off campus, it’s nice for them to go just right next door and be just as close as they were before and there’s also a lot of great things that charme has to offer,” said Riley Donnelly.
Off-campus housing is important for students looking for a space to fit their lifestyle and budget. It often provided greater flexibility and independence compared to on-campus options allowing students to choose locations that fit their needs.
