The college journey is more than just academics, it is about finding where we belong. The Counseling Center is offering a free workshop to all students (undergraduate and graduate) to provide A place where no one has to pretend to be someone else and can feel a sense of belonging, being seen, heard and valued for who they truly are. ‘Finding Our Wings’ is a collaborative space for students to discuss minority identities and explore a sense of belonging on the campus, led by Deaudra Reed.
Just as a bird learns to fly, this workshop helps students to embrace their identities, talk about challenges, and insecurities and build a strong connection with their peers. This workshop takes place as face-to-face sessions and provides an interactive and personal environment to students. Its purpose is not to teach skills, but instead to share feelings and instill more confidence.
