The Statesboro Exchange Club held a community picnic at Foster Families 7th Mile Farm on April 5 in honor of child abuse prevention month. The Exchange Club of Statesboro is a local civic club. They had this event to promote awareness and get involvement from the community.
“This is our annual community picnic, we’ve been doing it now for probably about 5 years if I had to estimate, and we just like to bring the community out; April is child abuse prevention month which is one of the things our club likes to highlight,” said Jennifer Mock.
There were many games available for kids such as ring toss, corn hole, football, bait casting, ziplining and much more. Upon arrival kids were given a bag filled with toys and also got the chance to get free books on this bus.
“I’m so glad so many kids could make it out here today, the weathers great and it’s going to- it’s a nice event. I think everyone is having a really good time,” said Mock.
