Savannah and surrounding areas are expected to receive snow fall as temperatures drop below freezing on Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service.
All Georgia Southern campuses will be moved to virtual operations through Wednesday, according to Eagle Alert sent out Monday night.
Our area is not equipped to handle winter storms. It is best to stay indoors and off the roads if you are able to.
Here are some tips on how to prepare for winter storms from savannahga.gov:
- Stock up on essential supplies and non-perishable foods
- Wear several layers if you go outside in extreme temperatures
- Drip your faucets overnight to prevent pipes from freezing
- Check your vehicle’s tire pressure, windshield wipers, antifreeze levels and fill up on gas
- Keep yourself updated on the weather forecasts
- Check your heating system
