The Philadelphia Eagles won against the Kansas City Chiefs with a score of 40 against 22 at the Super Bowl LIX on Sunday.
Kendrick Lamar and SZA were the halftime show performers, reportedly watched by 133.5 million people, according to Newsweek. It is the most-watched Super Bowl halftime show in history, featured on streaming platforms such as NFL+, Fox and Tubi.
We spoke to students to see how they felt about the Philadelphia Eagles winning and Kendrick Lamar breaking a halftime show record.
“Now, Hurts is my favorite. The quarterback, Hurts,” said LaHonda Washington, a second year exercise science major with a focus on nursing. She also said the halftime show was “childish.”
There was positive feedback on the Philadelphia Eagles winning this year’s Super Bowl.
“Of course, no one likes the Chiefs,” said Tyler Coffey, a first year Economics and Business Management Major.
There were also multiple businesses streaming the football game for people to watch.
“I was in Savannah, so whatever TV was around me,” said Eli Diaz, a first year business major. He also said the halftime show was “mediocre” and “overhyped.’’
“I liked it a lot,” said Jada, a second year health science major, about the halftime show. She was also glad the Eagles won.
