J.I. Clements Stadium is undergoing major renovations, transforming into a “world-class facility” designed to enhance the game-day experience for players, coaches, and Eagles fans.
The upgrades include new locker rooms, expanded batting cages, a cabana-style team lounge and upgraded coaching spaces. The project involved demolishing 6,000 square feet of existing space and adding 10,000 square feet to accommodate modern facilities.
According to Deputy Athletic Director for Development Allie Ware, the long-awaited renovations were driven by the team’s success and the need for a state-of-the-art facility.
“This project was privately funded, with major donations of $10 million and $1 million,” Ware said.
While no additional upgrades are planned beyond this phase, these renovations will have a significant impact on the future of Georgia Southern baseball—attracting top recruits and creating a larger, more electrifying game-day atmosphere.
Ryan Hall, Executive Deputy AD and Chief Operating Officer, emphasized that keeping Eagles fans and students engaged remains a top priority, even as the stadium undergoes major renovations.
“As we hit different milestones throughout the project, we’re taking a proactive approach—flooding social media with updates and keeping fans informed,” Hall said. “We also held a groundbreaking ceremony a few weeks ago that drew significant attention to the project.”
The renovated stadium is expected to be completed by the next baseball season.
