**Updated after receiving clarification regarding Work Study positions at Barnes and Noble College
Friday is the last day the University Store will be open before it is changed to a Barnes & Noble College, which will open on April 14.
In the weeks leading up to the closure, merchandise and other products available at the store were for sale at reduced rates. Product is quickly leaving shelves as students purchase the discounted products and employees pack up.
The decision to transform the store into a Barnes & Noble was motivated by financial performance, according to Georgia Southern’s VP of Business and Finance Ron Stalnaker in an article published by Reflector in March.
Current student employees of the University Store were invited to apply to Barnes and Noble. These positions are available on Armstrong at the time of publication:
- Supervisor (part-time)
- Campus Retail Associate (temporary, seasonal and part-time)
- Department Manager (DM)
- Assistant Store Manager
According to their website, Barnes & Noble College stores offer textbooks and college branded merchandise. They have numerous locations across the country.
