Super Smash Bros Tournament apart of festivities at TekLan 47

STATESBORO — Georgia Southern will be hosting TekLan 47 Friday Oct. 11. 

TekLan is a once a semester event hosted by the Geeks N Gamers club (GnG) and the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP)  centered on gaming and socializing. The event is a party with tournaments and casual game setups for students to participate in. It is a free event with no cost to visit or enter any of the tournaments. 

According to Elvis Mack, active member and former president of the Geeks N Gamers club, TekLan will take over the second floor of the IT building and host several events and activities. 

“This year GnG and AITP have teamed up to do a Super Smash Bros Ultimate tournament, the tournament is free to enter and anybody can test their skills,” Mack said. 

Outside of the tournament, TekLan will offer various games, including a room with computer setups for students to play the game of their choice. There will also be board games available for students to play. 

“If you are looking to meet new friends or to see how big the gaming community is at eagle nation then TekLan is for you,” Mack said.

TekLan will be hosted in the IT building on Oct. 11 from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.
