BRIEF: Zaxby’s to host 12th annual Scare on the Square

STATESBORO — Zaxby’s 12th annual Scare on the Square will be this Sunday from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a haunted house open until 11 p.m.

The event will have a costume contest, trunk-or-treating, a “Haunting of Hill House” haunted house, interactive games and activities, face painting and a themed hayride at the Courthouse lawn.

Registration for the costume contest begins at 4 p.m. with the contest starting with 0-3 year olds at 5 p.m. Ages 0-3 starts at 5 p.m.,  4-8 at 5:50 p.m., 9-12 at 6:25 p.m., 13-17 at 7 p.m. and 18+ at 7:30 p.m. Participants must register 30 minutes before their group begins judging. 

If interested, participants in the Monster Mashup dance can practice at Cotton Rose School of Dance on Mondays and Tuesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Many of the games and activities have been provided by Dr. Brent Wolfe’s recreational therapy students and the event is sponsored by Dr. Troy Lawhorn and Statesboro Oral Surgery.
