Georgia Southern paying Maine $325,000 and getting paid more by Minnesota
September 5, 2019
Georgia Southern will play Maine Saturday for the first time as an FBS program and they’ll pay for it.
GS is guaranteed to pay the Black Bears $325,000 for their regular season game on Saturday, as first reported by the Bangor Daily news.
The price GS is paying is the same the Eagles paid to host South Carolina State in 2018.
When GS travels to Minnesota next week, the Golden Gophers will pay a guaranteed $825,000.
The last time the Eagles faced a team from the Big Ten was against Indiana in 2017 where they were paid $800,000, according to the Indiana Daily Student.
Kickoff between GS and Maine is set for 6 p.m. in Paulson Stadium Saturday.
