Bulloch County sheriff issues curfew from midnight Wednesday to 7 a.m. Thursday morning

STATESBORO — Due to the threat of Hurricane Dorian, Sheriff Noel Brown has established a curfew for Bulloch County at midnight Wednesday to 7 a.m. Thursday morning.
This curfew was given to the county after Brian Kemp, the governor of Georgia, placed Bulloch and other counties in the Southeast under a state of emergency Wednesday morning.
“Please be advised the main purpose of this curfew is to keep travel limited to those who must be out due to necessity,” Bill Black, Chief Deputy of the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office, wrote in an email.
Individuals who are exempt from this curfew include those engaged in the provision of designated, essential services, such as fire, law enforcement, emergency medical services and hospital services, military services, utility emergency repairs, according to Black.
“Flash flooding will become increasingly likely across coastal Georgia into the eastern Carolinas, where significant, life-threatening, flash flooding is expected,” The National Hurricane Center wrote in a tweet.
