STARKE, Fl — Georgia Southern defensive end Quan Griffin and two others broke into a home and assaulted an individual Thursday morning, according to a police arrest report released by WTOC.
In the report from Aug. 1, officer Michael Rooney responded to a call about a battery that had occurred. According to the report, Griffin, along with Keshaun and Natavian Griffin, broke into a house and proceeded to assault a man, police believed to be an ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend.
The victim stated that he was punched and assaulted while laying in bed until he fell to the ground.
“The three black males then proceeded to ‘stomp’ him by striking him with their feet while he was on the ground,” the report reads. “(Redacted) then said one of the males placed a smaller black semi-automatic pistol in his face and stated ‘I should f****** shoot you.’”
The report noted that the victim had numerous lacerations on his head, back and chest. The victim also had an open laceration on his hand from a “visibly broken bone that protruded through the skin.”
After the EMS began giving aid to the victim, Rooney asked the female for her account of what happened.
According to the report, she was lying in her bed with her new boyfriend when there was a loud thud and she believed to hear breaking glass. The female stated she knew Shaquan because he’s the father of her son and then she reiterated what the victim said happened.
While the victim was on the ground, the female called 911 and Keshaun “pushed her against a wall and took the phone.”
The female stated that when she left the suspects were still attacking the victim and she called 911 again which is when the victims fled the scene.
“The female further stated that approximately one hour before the attack Shaquan sent her a text message accusing her of having another man in the house,” the report reads.
Shaquan advised he would come to the Starke Police Department to make a statement. He was then arrested.
Later, Shaquan was charged with battery, aggravated battery, weapon offense, damaging property, burglary, larceny, robbery and obstructing justice. Griffin is still being held in the Bradford County Jail and his bond is set at $345,000.
Friday, Griffin was suspended indefinitely by Chad Lunsford and the Eagles.
