While COVID-19 numbers continue to rise, some counties in Southeast Georgia single day lowest day to day coronavirus increases in a few weeks.

COVID-19 cases

  • Georgia Southern cases week ended (July 27 through August 2): 3
  • Bulloch County as of August 6: 1,175
  • Chatham County as of August 6: 5,441
  • Liberty County as of August 6: 676

COVID-19 deaths

  • Georgia Southern faculty as of August 6: 1
  • Bulloch County as of August 6: 14
  • Chatham County as of August 6: 74
  • Liberty County as of August 6: 3

Bulloch County’s Squashing the Spread Bulloch is holding a free washable face mask distribution on August 10, 14, and 15 as part of the #MaskUpStatesboro initiative. The distribution will take place in the Statesboro visitor center from 5 pm to 7 pm on August 10 and 14 and from 9 am to 12 pm on August 15. Liberty County and Hinesville city officials encourage those living in their county to keep complying with the CDC guidelines.
