“The ‘Blue Mile’ is the struggling one mile stretch of US Highway 301 South (South Main Street) bridging historic downtown Statesboro to the thriving campus of Georgia Southern University,” according to Statesboro Blue Mile.
Located on the Blue Mile are iconic and local Statesboro businesses, including restaurants and retail stores. If you’re new to Statesboro, you might get overwhelmed with all the options–but don’t fret. Here’s a breakdown of all the local places you need to experience on the Blue Mile.
Eats

With the multitude of coffee shops available, it’s hard not to find one you like. Each has its own aesthetic and offers a unique variety of drinks.
Brewery: Eagle Creek Brewing Company
Eagle Creek Brewing Company offers a variety of handcrafted beers you can;t get anywhere else.
Mexican Food: Baja Boro, Del Sur Taqueria & Cantina, El Sombrero
You have to try these places at least once.
Wings, Burgers & More: Gnat’s Landing, Wingz University
Gnat’s Landing is a Statesboro icon. It’s basically a requirement to go at least once.

Averitt Center for the Arts
The Averitt Center for the Arts hosts many performances and events throughout the year. It has the Emma Kelly Theater and an art gallery.

Statesboro Regional Public Library
Henderson Library can get pretty crowded, especially during finals week. The Statesboro Regional Public Library may be the perfect place to go get some peaceful studying done.

The Farmer’s Market is down for Covid, BUT Statesboro Market2Go ONLINE is thriving! (Delivered to your car) …At Statesboro Convention and Visitors and Center, 222 S. Main St. Order by Tues midnight for pickup Thursday afternoon. Hundreds of meat, bakery, veggie items, plus handcrafts and HOUSEPLANTS (that’s my gig).
Also, it’s a cool place to VOLUNTEER.
