The Parker College of Business had their naming celebration following the $5 million donation from CEO Greg Parker Friday.
The gift, the largest single gift in Georgia Southern University’s history, is being used to innovate and improve the college. According to Dean Allen Amason, this gift will be used to fund the Parker Business Scholarship for rising business seniors and will also support the Parker Business Scholars. This will also help fund the Parker Faculty Support Fund.
One of the inaugural Parker Business Scholars, Mohammad Abdallah spoke about the program and the gift.
“There is simply no substitute for a business education from Parker College,” Abdallah said.
The college has big plans for the future. The college aims to be one of the best business schools in the nation.
“Years from now I believe we’ll better than we are today. There’s no upper limit on how good you can be,” Amason said.
Parker, who employees several alumni from GS in high-level positions, is eager to work with the company to share both his resources, but his contacts and knowledge.
Parker said, “I wanted to create a conduit of talent from this University to our community,”
