Georgia Southern University’s Strategic Planning Committee will host the University Mission and Vision Feedback Session on the Statesboro campus on Wednesday in Russell Union 2041.

The university will take comments from the GS community from 10 a.m. until 12:20 p.m.

“Mission and vision statements help to define who we are and what we aspire to be as an institution,” Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Carl L. Reiber, Ph.D., who is overseeing the Strategic Planning process, said. “We need a more concise mission statement that reflects our priorities and will guide us going forward.”

Recently, the University Strategic Planning Committee hosted several town hall events in the effort to engage with the community regarding what university goals and priorities to define and strive for.

“It’s important that the University’s strategic planning process is as inclusive as possible, giving community members, alumni, and other external stakeholders the opportunity to get involved,” Reiber said.

The new mission and vision statements ultimately will inform the Strategic Plan. As a five-year vision for the institution’s future, the Strategic Plan will ensure that the university progresses with a clear set of goals, strategies, and measurable outcomes for major areas of interest.

Free parking will be available on campus for the sessions.
