Republican gubernatorial candidate Brian Kemp will be holding a fundraising reception with Congressman Rick Allen in Statesboro on Wednesday.

The fundraising event will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Belle House on 380 Westside Road in Statesboro.

The event is open to the public, but a ticket is required to attend, Alexandra Hammock, a representative of the Kemp for Governor campaign, said.

Tickets can be bought online. Tickets range from $250 for a guest ticket to $6,600 for a chair ticket, but donors can commit any amount of money by entering their own donation amount.

Money from the fundraising event will go toward covering the expenses for the Kemp campaign, Hammock said.

Kemp does not have any plans to visit the Statesboro campus of Georgia Southern University because his schedule is booked until Nov. 6, Hammock said.

“Unfortunately, with Brian’s schedule, he will be unable to come speak on campus,” Hammock said in an email. “We have his every moment booked up until November 6.”

The George-Anne asked if the media could attend the fundraiser but was told the Kemp campaign is not allowing press at the event.

“Unfortunately we are not allowing press at the event,” Hammock said. “If you would like to simply attend, I can send you the link for the donation.”

Kemp will be holding rallies across Georgia this week as part of his “Putting Georgians First Bus Tour.”
