Reports: Clay Helton headed to Georgia Southern

According to numerous reports stemming from anonymous sources, former USC head coach Clay Helton is expected to be hired as the next head coach of the Georgia Southern football program. Matt Zenitz, with On3, was the first on the story.

Helton spent six seasons in Los Angeles, accumulating a record of 42-24. Among his list of accomplishments with the Trojans is two division titles, a Pac-12 Championship and a Rose Bowl victory.
The Georgia Southern athletics department had no comment when asked about Helton.
