The 18-year-old man shot at Freedom’s Landing was pronounced dead Thursday and confirmed not to be a resident of the dorm nor a student, according to director of university communications, Jennifer Wise.

University Police responded to a shot-fired call Thursday afternoon, finding Kelsey Parrish suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the hospital and his case was handed over to the GBI, according to a GBI press release.

This case is still ongoing as his body is being taken to the GBI crime lab in Pooler for autopsy.
