Don’t Get Lost in The Sauce

Don't Get Lost in The Sauce

You are getting a chance to attend Georgia Southern University; temptations will be at an all-time high. It’s your first time leaving your parent’s bird nest, and you will be flooded with a deep selection of activities to indulge in.

What will you do? Will you partake in everything you possibly can? Probably, so that’s the natural thing for you to do. But take my advice when I say don’t do it. Parties and events will always happen regardless of what happens to you.

It’s up to you to prohibit yourself from going into a downward spiral; you would be letting everyone you love down by permitting such a thing to happen. The first few weeks of class will be a breeze for most but do not expect this to be the case for the rest of the semester.

It’s a marathon, not a race and only those with endurance and discipline get the opportunity to walk across that stage. That’s the goal, right? Not the endless partying, not to sound like a party pooper (No Pun Intended). Look, I’m not saying that you shouldn’t go out and party or have fun, but I am advocating for you to do so responsibly.

You’re not a baby anymore, and you will see that soon; not to sound bleak or anything, but honestly, you will. You will have the most fun of your life, trust me, it’s true, but don’t allow that fun to have you moving down in your academic standing. I’ve seen it happen multiple times, and I’m only a junior. Most of the people from my first year that were constant partygoers are at home partying now.

So yes, have fun and enjoy yourself. You most certainly will but always remember, don’t get lost in the sauce.
