Georgia Southern Mens Soccer Takes Another Loss Ke’Juan Humphries Brings You This Report

After being down 4-0 early in the second half, The Eagles Men’s Soccer team’s comeback effort fell short on Saturday night as they lost 4-2 to The Old Dominion Monarchs. The Eagles were looking to go 2-0 on the week after beating North Florida on Tuesday. I was able to talk to coach John Murphy after the game.

“We gotta get over these types of results quickly and move onto the next thing. I’m disappointed but I think there’s some things that we can take out of this performance that will bode well going forward. It’s just going to be a work-in-progress with this young group, but I’m proud of them and we’re not disheartened. Gotta keep fighting,” said Murphy.

Two goals by Manuel Prieto in the last 37 minutes made the final score 4-2. Unfortunately, it was a little too late for The Eagles. I was able to talk to goalie, Dagoberto Romero, to see what he thinks went wrong in the game.

“The goals we conceded came from sloppy mistakes. People weren’t doing their job and putting in the work,” said Romero.

The Eagles will return to action on Tuesday as they go on the road to take on Jacksonville University.
