Remember school before college? Remember taking English Language Arts classes? Somedays you would focus on grammar and others you read and discuss books? It makes sense that reading and writing go together. Although at a college level writing can mean numerous different things, such as academic essays, creative writing, or reporting, it is more efficient to have both subjects in one department.

This year is one of transition for the departments as they get ready to join. What will this look like for English and writing majors? After reaching out to sources they’ve said there isn’t much information that is public yet, but more will come this spring.
