Saving the (Holi)Day
It’s not much of a secret that there is an issue of inflation nationwide.
Well, good news: a few popular supermarket chains have thought of a way to help our budgets stay bountiful this holiday season.
Aldi, known as a deep-discount chain, has decided to bring back “pre-pandemic, pre-inflationary” prices on holiday essentials like appetizers, sides, desserts and beverages. Many of the items will be marked down up to 30%, which will bring them back to the prices of the 2019 holiday season. These deals went into place on November 2nd.
President of Aldi U.S. Dave Rinaldo stated, “We expect to welcome tens of millions of customers in our stores this Thanksgiving season, and we want them to know they can count on us. So why not attempt that additional side dish this year, or invite over a few more friends or family members? You can rest easy knowing ALDI has your back this Thanksgiving, and beyond.”
Walmart also announced rollbacks to last year’s prices, with deals lasting through December 26th.
So over the next few weeks, during your trips to the grocery store, keep an eye out for specially marked items. Enjoy your holiday meals and have a happy holiday season!
