Mobile Eagle ID Service
Georgia Southern University is opening an “E-Card service” through The Transact app, free of charge for all students on campus.
The Transact app has you covered if you are someone who misplaces or loses their Eagle ID. It offers every feature that your Eagle ID offers except that it is one hundred percent digital. If you always have your phone or mobile device on you, you will also have your Eagle ID.
Wherever there is a scan-and-go, you can use your Eagle ID through the app, including dining halls, athletic facilities, laundry rooms, and anywhere you have scan-and-go access.
The scan-and-go is an emblem that looks like small waves that gradually get bigger. Where ever you see one of these little emblems, you can simply go to the wallet app on your phone, click on your Eagle ID card and hover it over the emblem. In seconds you will have access to the facility or service you need.
The app is designed to access your meals and account balances for dining dollars, Eaglexpress, and budget bucks.
Once you have successfully authenticated in eAccounts, click the Add to Apple Wallet button to add your Eagle Card to Apple Wallet.
The Parking and Card Service Department has cards with a barcode that can be scanned, and you can start that way. “The E-cards are safer and easier to use compared to your standard card because it’s on your phone, and everyone has their phone on them,” said Skyriannia Cannon, an employee at the parking and card service desk.
Another feature that the Transact app offers is locking your card. If you lose or misplace it, you could close your Eagle ID so no one can use it if it is misplaced, stolen, or lost.
“I always have my phone in my hand, so I don’t have to dig through my wallet to find my card.” “I can just double tap the power button and it’s accessible,” said Suzanne Underwood, a Georgia Southern student.
