 Eagles beat App State on the road 84-73 which would also be Coach Howards 200th college level win as a head coach. 

GS is now 16-7 overall and 8-6 in the sunbelt after using a 13-0 run to Beat App State 84-73, Terren Ward led the Eagles in points with 19 along with 3 players getting double-doubles. 

  • Leading 37-31 at half-time, GS came back out and pushed their lead to 10 twice in the third quarter before their 13-0 run in the 4th. This was also Ward’s 8th double-double of the season.

Terren Ward- 19 pts, 10 rebounds

Taya Gibson– 15 pts, 10 rebounds 

Eden Johnson– 13 pts, 10 rebounds 

Simone James- 15 pts

GS fell to ODU 67-50 after committing 20 turnovers which were converted into 24 points for ODU.

  • The Monarchs improved to 17-9 overall and 9-4 in the Sun Belt with their fourth straight win, while Georgia Southern fell to 15-7 overall and 7-6 in the Sun Belt.

  • Quote from Coach Howard: “That hurt us. We didn’t seem like ourselves tonight. Hats off to ODU, who played a phenomenal game. Everyone who played for them tonight was ready to play. We gave them those extra possessions with those 20 turnovers, letting them shoot the ball more than us – that was the difference. We’ll figure it out before App State but this was a tough one for us.”
