Sports Catch up: Georgia Southern suffers 5-0 lost in Sun Belt Conference against Coastal Carolina

Coastal  improved to 28-9 and 5-4 SBC with the victory, while Georgia Southern fell to 11-20 overall and 1-8 in the league. The Eagles return home for the first time in two weeks, hosting App State in the first of a three-game Sun Belt series on Thursday at 6pm

 

Game Summary: Coastal Carolina took the lead early in the contest, getting a two-run double in the bottom of the first inning for a 2-0 lead.

  • The Eagles had the bases loaded with one out in the top of the third on an Emma Davis single, a walk to Dejah Mills and a hit by pitch by Janai Conklin, but the CC was able to make turn a 5-2-3 double play to end the threat.
  • Davis led the Eagles offensively by going 4-for-4, the second four-hit game of the season for the freshman.
