A civic engagement event will be held with a panel of Mayor Jonathan McCollar and other civic advocates of color on Tuesday evening at the Russell Union.

What’s happening: “Attendees can expect an honest discussion about the importance of civic engagement for young people, why it matters, and why we should make sure to be involved,” said Jillian King, public relations director for the Madeline Ryan Smith campaign which is sponsoring this event.

• “The raffle is free to enter, anyone who comes gets a free ticket,” said King. “There will be 3 gift cards to local businesses for winners.”
• The event will be held on Tuesday, April 11 at 6p.m. at the Russell Union.
