Cosmopolitan occasionally publishes a post where someone will message their Tinder matches certain quotes (like Fifty Shades of Gray Lines). I decided to hop on board but with a Georgia Southern twist: I sent people I matched with on Tinder Erk Russell quotes. Honestly, most people ignored me and didn’t message back; I probably had them thinking something along the lines of, “Whew, I dodged a bullet with that one.”

Despite the possible questions and red flags that may have appeared in their head, some guys did respond. Some tried to play along, some had no idea who Erk Russell was and some were just plain confused.

I shuffled between five quotes:

“I wasn’t willing to make another four- or five-year commitment. Did I make the right choice? Absolutely.”

All in all, the quote that got the most responses was “My first 31 years in this business were like a guy eating at a buffet table. Later, when I came here to Georgia Southern, it was like eating the dessert.” However, I would not recommend using Erk Russell quotes as a pick-up line unless you truly want to GATA.
