Over 2 Thousand Waiting for Parking Permits

Over+2+Thousand+Waiting+for+Parking+Permits

A total of 2,752 parking permits are waitlisted for Fall 2023.

What happened: While some lots have sold out for the Fall semester, there are still parking permits available for the RAC lot, Lot 12, and Lot 29.

  • “Our Parking & Transportation team continuously conducts inventories on lots that have waiting lists and releases blocks of spaces for purchase as there is availability,” said April Burke, engagement & communications strategist.
  • “Exactly 1,500 unique students are waitlisted for parking permits,” said Jennifer Wise, Director of University Communications. “Many of these are waitlisted for multiple locations, meaning 1,252 are duplicates.”

What now: “Lot 29 was completed in the Spring of 2023 and includes 595 new spaces for commuter students to park in,” said Burke. “The lot includes several EV chargers for electric vehicles as well as scenic places to sit and relax between classes.”

  • AMP parking is available to any student, faculty or staff.
  • This allows individuals to pay-as-you-park in these spaces and utilize them for longer than 30 minutes. Each time you park, a customer can go to the AMP Park app or web portal and register their vehicle for the space.

What else: Here are the following lots and their waitlist amounts, according to open records on August 18, 2023.

  • Lot 11 Commuter: 65
  • Lot 13 Commuter: 135
  • Lot 21 Commuter: 284
  • Lot 30 Commuter: 234
  • Lot 32 Commuter: 709
  • Lot 41 Commuter: 584
