A March for Our Lives march will take place at Georgia Southern University Saturday afternoon.

Sparked by students affected by the recent tragedy in Parkland, Florida, the movement is dedicated to promoting and change from current local, state and national representatives on gun regulation.

Elisabeth Malloy, sophomore political science major and event coordinator for the march, said that it is important to localize the movement on campus.

“It’s important to give the high school community a platform,” Malloy said. “We want GS to be outreaching.”

The march will begin at 1 p.m. at the Rotunda, cutting between Forest Drive and the College of Business Administration and down the Pedestrium through campus and back to the Rotunda.
