Georgia Southern University is partnering with the United States Air Force to provide education for active-duty, National Guard and reserve personnel through General Education Mobile (GEM) program.

Georgia Southern recent partnership with GEM, makes the university one of of only 96 institutions of higher education to provide Air Force personnel with the opportunity to be approved for classes remotely.

Georgia Southern will offer online and traditional classes, all of which are in the five general required areas: mathematics, written communications, oral communication, social sciences and humanities.

The university offering online courses gives members the flexibility to earn their bachelor and/or master degree from any location.

Phil Gore, director of Military and Veterans Affairs, said, “This opportunity gives airmen the benefit of taking classes on a public campus for higher education, someone could be based in Japan and still earn their degree at Georgia Southern.”
