CFS to hold sixth annual Arbor Day celebration.

The Georgia Southern University Arbor Day celebration will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Herty Preserve kiosk on Sweetheart Circle.

The celebration will include a tree planting ceremony where up to 500 native long leaf pine seedlings and other assorted vegetation will be planted in the Herty Preserve to replace the vegetation that has been lost this past year, said Center for Sustainability Director Dr. Lissa Leege said.

The event will also include a few speakers that will briefly explain the value of trees and environmental preservation.

The event is free is open to the public, so bring your seedlings to plant some seedlings this Arbor day.
