Get more than your money’s worth
Living on a college budget can be hard. How is anyone supposed to be able to pay for tuition, rent, groceries, and still afford to occasionally treat themselves? Luckily, there are many professional quality makeup brands that you can get for drugstore prices.
- Revolution
This is my personal favorite. You can purchase Revolution makeup from any Ulta store, and Revolution has all kinds of cheap makeup that is of extremely good quality. They have all different ranges of affordable makeup products such as lipsticks ($2.49-$6), eyeshadow palettes ($7-$18), contour kits ($3.49), and more. My personal favorite of their products is the Vivid Baked Highlighter in Peach Lights ($6) and the Focus & Fix Brow Kit ($6). - e.l.f.
E.l.f. has a range of affordable makeup products. They have everything from foundation ($6-$8) to eyeliner ($2-$6), to a Professional Complete Set of 12 Brushes ($12). Personally, I find their brushes to be of good quality, and they work very well. They can also be purchased individually or in a set. Their products can be found at multiple stores such as Ulta, Target, Walmart, Old Navy, Walgreens, or CVS. - Wet n Wild
Wet n Wild is another good brand that’ll have you a devoted customer in no time.
You can buy all sorts of amazing products such as fake Eyelashes for under $3, a Color Icon Ombre Blush for $4.99, and a Color Icon Rainbow Highlighter for $5.99. - ColourPop
Eyeshadow palettes between $10 and $25, liquid lipsticks for $6.50, and setting spray for $6. What more could a girl want?
Unfortunately, Colourpop is not widely available; it can only be purchased online or at Sephora. - NYX Cosmetics
NYX Cosmetics has multiple, affordable options that will give the buyer a “professional makeup” feeling. You’ll never run out of options scrolling through their website with 9 pages dedicated to just face products and 14 pages of various lip products.
NYX Cosmetics can be found at a range of stores such as Ulta, Walgreens, CVS, Macy’s, or Target.
With these makeup brands, you can treat yourself and have a little cash left over to save for a rainy day–or maybe for another lipstick.
