As the semester comes to a close, students are almost ready to pack their bags and engage in fun activities, work or summer classes.
Armstrong undergraduates have been working hard in the world of university lectures and social events.
“I do have plans to go out of town one week in June, and my brother is getting married, so that’s very exciting,” Anna McVay, a sophomore elementary education major, said.
She said the first half of the summer “is mostly just helping prepare for that.”
“They have not chosen their wedding party yet, but I am hoping to be a bridesmaid,” McVay said.
She is “really excited for them” because his fiancée is her high school best friend.
“There may or may not be a Universal trip towards the end of the summer,” McVay said.
She is “hoping to mostly relax” but is “also taking summer classes, so that may be a little difficult.”
Olivia Saradinski, who is also a sophomore elementary education major, said her plans included “mainly work and hanging out with friends.”
“In June, I’m going to go on a cruise to the Bahamas,” Saradinski said.
“My plans for the summer are to go home and spend time with family,” Reagan Richards, a junior health major, said.
She said she is “most excited to be able to be outside in weather that is a little bit colder than this.”
Richards said it is “too hot” for her near Savannah.
“My plans are to work and find new places in Savannah to explore, go to the beach, and just have a good summer with my friends,” Ellie McCullough, a junior communications major, said.
She is excited to “meet new people and maybe go to a Savannah Bananas game.”
“I’m actually going to Wexford, Ireland for a study abroad program, but other than that, I’m probably just going to be working mainly,” Chad Grefski, a sophomore philosophy major, said.
Georgia Southern University offers a study abroad program for students to travel to Wexford, Ireland. Their website says it is the “best-value study abroad program in the University System of Georgia.”
It is going to be his first time out of the country and he is “really looking forward to it.”
Landon Yazzie, a student majoring in biology, said he will “mostly just work, but I do plan on going to New York with my girlfriend for at least for a week or two.”
He also plans to save up money over the summer.
Yazzie is excited for the fall semester because he has “a lot of good classes coming up, and a lot of classes that will be a lot easier since I’m kind of stacked this semester with like a lot of STEM.”
Whether you’ll be relaxing, working, traveling, or all of the above, we hope you have a great summer break!
