Local businesses, community organizations and university resource programs lined the residential walkway on Wednesday for the fall 2025 Savannah Browse, handing out freebies and introducing students to the activities and opportunities around Savannah.
Chris Myrick, owner of CMyrick Design, set up at the Browse to display and sell his original jewelry creations. He was hoping to connect with new customers, spread word of his art and inspire others to pursue their own business ventures.
“I’ve been making jewelry all my life, since my mom taught,” Myrick said. “I’m inspired by God and love and joy and all things shiny and beautiful.”
Eagle Dining Services informed attendees about their partnership with GrubHub, showing students how they can use their EagleXpress to order food with $0 delivery fees.
“It opens variety and it’s also very accessible for people who don’t have cars,” said Dining Events Coordinator Becca Baileys.
The Non-Profit High Opportunity Voter Project joined the Browse to help students register to vote here in Savannah, which helps them get prepared for local elections as well as future presidential elections.
“Get registered and if you decide to wake up one morning to go vote, you can … give yourself the option,” said Amy Prince with the Statesboro HOVP office.
Brighter Day Natural Foods Market passed out a variety of healthy snacks and invited students to visit their store and deli located right outside of Forsyth Park.
“Basically whatever snack you like to eat, we have a healthy version of it,” said Christine Murphy, an organizer with Brighter Day.
At other tables, students spun virtual wheels for prizes, talked about programs offered at the YMCA and Savannah Martial Arts, and learned where they can find some ministry groups around town. They even had the chance to practice their axe throwing.
