Early voting is available in Bulloch County, giving voters the opportunity to cast their ballots before election day on May 19th.
According to elections supervisor Shontay Jones, almost 900 people came out for early voting as of Saturday, with many residents taking advantage of the flexible hours and little to no lines.
Early voting is taking place at the Bulloch County North Main Annex during weekdays until May 15th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with an additional opportunity to vote this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“You basically come in with one of the forms of identification that’s acceptable for Georgia law,” said Jones. “Driver’s licenses is the most common one, but a military ID, a passport, are some of those acceptable forms of ID.”
Jones said the next step is to check in at the poll pad and verify your information. From there, you’ll receive a voter card and head to a voting booth to make your selections. After voting, you’ll print your ballot and take it to the tabulator to be scanned.
Jones has been making efforts to encourage voter participation within Bulloch County due to the importance of this election for Georgia residents.
