While they may not be as essential as gloves or bats, walk-up songs play a pivotal role in the game of baseball.
From Mariano Rivera walking out to Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” (putting into the mind of his opponents that he will put them to rest) or Chipper Jones stepping to either side of the plate with “Crazy Train” blasting through Turner Field’s Walls, walk-up songs provide a certain energy to a player that will either pump them up or mellow them out before it is time to perform.
